Travels to Chicago

This past weekend I ran the Chicago marathon! I’ll recap all the things that happened along the way as I had no time to post any of these as I would have liked. We left early Friday morning, as Chicago is about an 8 hour drive away. Needless to say the ride was pretty darn boring. There really isn’t much along the way besides open fields and trees.
I got my participant guide in the mail, so exciting!
I packed all my food and drinks for the ride up and the next couple days. In the cooler I had apples, bananas, a sandwich, and my oatmeals for the next few days. As I expected none of the rest stops along the way had any healthier options, not even a sandwich or sub place, so i’m so glad I brought my own sandwich! I also had gatorades and waters in the cooler.
Here are some of my snacks for the ride up. Dried Banana chunks, apple chips, almond butter, and pretzels.
I got really bored during the ride up so I took an endless amount of selfies! HA 🙂

We got to Chicago around 4:00pm central time and then headed to the expo center. I’ll show you all the pictures from that tomorrow!
