Top 3 Reasons to Snack

I love snacking! Mainly due to the fact that I just can’t eat a ton of food as most people do at once. So I have many small meals throughout the day. And it turns out there are a lot of benefits to snacking! This of course if done in a healthy way.  I certainly don’t grab a bag of potato chips and start snacking.  Here are some great reasons to snack!

  1. Keeps you feeling full.- If you snack every 3 hours or so you won’t be starving by your next meal since there is less time in between.
  2. Keeps blood sugar even.- Which keeps  energy levels up.
  3. Prevents over eating.- If you get to the point where you are starving you are more likely to munch on food whole preparing a meal that aren’t so good for you.

Try some healthy snack options such as:

  • Apple & Peanut butter
  • Hummus and Pita bread
  • Hard Boiled eggs and a piece of fruit
