Throw Back Thursday: Olympic Trials 2012

Recently I was looking through some old pictures.  Looking back at such an amazing week.   The 2012 Track and Field Olympic Trials.  I still can’t believe I went there and watched.  My friend and I applied about a year back to be volunteers at the trials,  not really knowing if we’d get chosen out of all the applicants, especially not being from the area, state or even west coast.  It was such an amazing experience to participate in and we got to meet TONS of amazing people who all loved running as much as we had.  I gotta say I had never met this many people that loved running and about all the professional athletes as me, not even in high school and college.

This is the first time i’ve ever seen Hayward Field.  It was love at first sight. 🙂

First time I tried a Picky Bar. One word, WOW.  They are so good! And good for you.
I got to run a 1 mile fun run race at Hayward Field.  I never thought I’d be able to run a race there and was oh so extremely happy that I got the opportunity to do so.

I then got to meet two of my biggest running idols! Lauren Fleshman and Alysia Montano!
(I was basically fan girling hard and shaking from happiness before I even got up there.  I’m such a loser!)

I’d say my first trip to the west coast was a huge success.  This was honestly one of the best weeks ever.    Being in tracktownusa was beyond what words can explain. And running on Pre’s trail was absolute bliss,  I just can’t find those type of cushioned trails near me.   I hope to do this again by the time 2016 comes along and really be able to celebrate the Track and Field world once again!
