NYC: 9/11 Museum

Last year when I visited my brother in NYC they were starting the process of building the 9/11 Museum and had just finished the Memorial Plaza. The museum had just opened up a few weeks before I got to NYC, and I knew I wanted to visit before I left NYC.

The Memorial outside the museum.

Admission is free from 5pm-close on Tuesdays. I showed up on Tuesday and didn’t even realize this until I got there. But, if you do want tickets to get admission into the museum right away get there by 4 or else you may have to wait until 7pm to get in, as they stagger admissions.

Quote on the wall in the museum.

The museum sets out to tell the story of 9/11 through a collection of narratives and archives. The museum documents the chronological events of the September 11 attack and the aftermath of those events.I didn’t take many pictures inside, as I was trying to take every thing in. It was a great museum, but extremely emotional, as I expected. If you get the chance, I would go.

Thanks for sharing! If I ever go to NYC, I want to visit the museum, too.
