NBGNO: New Balance Girls Night Out

One of the things that I have loved about being in New York City this summer is that there are so many ways to stay active! Whether it be free yoga at Bryant park, or free fitness classes or running groups with various companies across New York.
Last Tuesday I attended New Balance’s Girls Night Out.  I happened to stumble upon a tweet by Bianca from Mizz Fit about this event and it sounded right up my alley so I signed up!  
The event was a “Girls night out” but in an active way.  MY type of girls night out! I was a little nervous going to an event where I knew absolutely no one.  But everyone was SO friendly!
 We started off with a warm up to the Hudson, where we did various strength exercises and then ran back.

We were encouraged to take selfies of our trip.  You don’t have to tell me twice! So I took one while we were creating a human pyramid for our group picture.
 At the end we got these delicious salads.  This one had quinoa, kale, broccoli, beets and tofu!
And these Chocolate protein brownies.  Oh heavens they were good!
A speech on the importance of strength exercises for women from Holly Perkins  along with examples.
And to end the night a dance party and a goodie bag!
I had an absolute blast at the New Balance Girls Night Out and can not wait until the next one if you live in a city that is hosting them definitely go check it out!
