Lately I have heard a lot of people mention how gross kale is. I was shocked because I love kale so much, especially prepared this way.  You can completely transform the taste of a vegetable by adding a few simple ingredients.  That is why it is time to give kale another try with this recipe.

Garlic Lemon Romano Kale Recipe- Healthy Vegetable

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large bag of kale
  • 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 Cups water
  • Shredded romano to taste

Directions:

  1. In a large sauce pan, combine kale, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and water.
  2. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes or until wilted down.
  3. Water will be left in the bottom, drain or use a slotted spoon to remove kale.
  4. Optional: top kale with romano cheese.

Option 2:

  • You can also make this recipe in a crock pot.  Simply combine all ingredients and cook on low for 40-60 minutes.
