Healthier Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!  Starting this morning with a delicious treat.  I made the absolute perfect banana bread recently and needed to share.  It’s the perfect make ahead holiday or New Years breakfast or dessert idea!  Made with whole wheat flour and limited amounts of sugar! Perfect way to start the day!

Wet Ingredients:

  • 4 Medium bananas- ripe
  • 1/3 Cup unsweetened vanillas almond milk
  • 1/3 Cup coconut oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons natural maple syrup
  • 2 Teaspoons vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon truvia
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Cup rolled oats
  • 1 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 Cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Semi sweet chocolate chips

 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Spray 9 x 5 loaf pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl mash the bananas.
  4. Add all wet ingredients to mashed bananas and mix.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together dry ingredients.
  6. Mix together wet and dry ingredients until fully blended together.
  7. Pour the banana bread mixture into the loaf pan.
  8. Bake 45-50 Minutes.
  9. Let cool for 10 min before trying to remove banana bread from loaf ban.
  10. Continue to let cool.
