Good Bye 2016, Hello 2017

Hello all! I hope you all had a magnificent New Years and holiday season.  I’m back from little holiday blogging break.  While I was away I got to spend some much needed quality time with friends and family back in Buffalo.  I’ll fill you all in on the cool things I did while I was home next week!  I originally wasn’t going to talk about New Years resolutions but that would already be going against one of mine, to share more of my life with y’all.  But before we talk about 2017, let’s talk about 2016.

2016:

  • Officially been living in LA for a year. Woot!  The move was interesting, terrifying, amazing, exciting and fun.  As you know I love pushing myself and getting out of my comfort zone. To me that is the best was to grow as a person.  So why not move to a place you don’t know a single person, all the way across the country? And I am so glad I did! Despite leaving my friends and family who I love dearly in Buffalo, I have met some incredible people out here.  LA has opened my eyes to so much and I look forward to continuing to grow.
  •  If you have been reading my blog for a little while you may know I had attended blogfest (Day 1, Day 2) in July.  It was such an incredible experience that opened my eyes up to so much in the blogging world.  I got to meet so many incredible people who have inspired me and lit a fire underneath me to just go for it and do what I love.  The blogging community is such an incredible group of people.  I feel so blessed that I was able to attend and meet such incredible women!
  • I shared my blog with my friends (Hey y’all!)  I wanted it to be perfect before I shared it with anyone close to me.  But then I realized that it probably would never be “perfect” in my eyes as I am constantly trying to make it better.  Constantly try to better the photography, the content, and the design.  So I took the jump and it felt great to share it with them!

2017:

There are 2 major things that I want to work on more in 2017.  Which are two of my passions.  Travel and blogging.

  • Travel.  2017 I want to travel more.  Within the United States and internationally.  This summer I am so excited to finally travel to Europe!  I will be spending just about a month over there and will be visiting England, France, Italy and Germany. I have been wanting to go there since high school and am excited to finally  do it.  As 2016 came to a close I started to explore more and more places near me, visiting both San Diego and Santa Barbara.   I’d love to continue exploring the west coast more and visit San Francisco, Napa, Yosemite, Palm Springs, and Mexico (someone tell me where I should visit there!) .
  • The Blog. There’s a lot planned for 2017 and I’m excited! First off, connect more with y’all! As I stated above one of my resolutions is to share more of my life with you.  In general I’m a pretty closed off person and don’t like to share much of my life with people. Which I hope to break that in 2017.  So expect a lot more personal posts or posts about what I’ve been up to. Second,  I hope to continue to grow my blog and work on my food photography skills.  Some of my food photography is great and I’m very proud of  it and some dishes are much more difficult to photograph.  I hope to continue to work on those skills and be proud of every single photo I post here. Heck maybe I’ll even remember  to horizontally take every picture I take on my cell phone.

In 2017 I want you all to do that one thing that you say “One day I will …” and do it! Life’s to short to not do it.  Make your dreams happen!

I wish you all the best for the upcoming year!

What is one of your New Years resolutions?
