Beautiful Santa Barbara

I have been in the exploring mood lately, so I figured why not venture up to Santa Barbara for the day this past weekend! A short 1.5 hour drive up from Los Angeles and I was ready to go.

I met up with some friends  who were also going to be in Santa Barbara for the day boat shopping.  I know nothing about boats what so ever, but they looked pretty nice Ha!

While they did some more boat things, I stopped for some coffee of course! I was in desperate need of some coffee if I wanted to get through the day. A little google search found that The French Press is one of the best coffee shops in Santa Barbara, and boy was google right.  Got the usual latte and it woke  me right up, and I was ready to explore Santa Barbara!  I walked around a bit by myself and then met the guys at this super cute antique store called The Blue Door.  They had tons of cool products there to check out!

The foodie in me always likes trying local restaurants.  We happened to stumble upon this place called The Lucky Penny.  Everything on the menu looked so darn good, but I eventually decided to get the wood fired chicken salad sandwich. This sandwich had rosemary, avocado, almonds, fig mustard, house made pickles (do I even need to say more. YUM!), and seasonal greens all served on a ciabatta roll.  It also came with these tasty house made chips.  Honestly this was by far the best sandwich I have ever eaten and would probably drive the hour and a half just to come here again.  It was total perfection!

After that we continued to walk around and explore the shops. Santa Barbara is the cutest town, especially at night when all the Christmas decorations are all lit up!  Next time I go i’m definitely going wine tasting though, as it seemed like there was a wine tasting room on every corner!
